Where are you from?
What brought you to Cedar City?
Studying music education at SUU.
How long have you been playing piano and guitar for OTC Comedy Improvisation?
It’s hard to keep track because it’s been so much fun, but less than a year for sure...I think...maybe...I don’t know.
What other instruments do you play?
I also play bass, drums, ukulele, mandolin, a little violin and pretty much any damn thing I can get my hands on.
Important question. Peanut butter and jelly or peanut butter and honey?
Important answer: peanut butter and honey. Don’t believe me, try it and you’ll see!
If you could jam with any musician, alive or dead, who would it be? Why?
Ugh! That’s such a tough question, because I have such a long list! But if I only could choose one it would have to be Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day. They’re my favorite band, and I love the way the man writes, so it would be awesome to experience that first hand.
Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka, what were your thoughts?
I think he did his best with what he had to work with, but at the end of the day it’s just wrong. Gene Wilder brought something to the role that you just can’t duplicate. His insanity was almost relatable in a weird way, which may or may not say more about me than the character, but oh well.
How has improv changed/affected/impacted the life of M. V. D'Orazio?
2 ways. The first being that it’s given me a chance to take all the crazy that’s in my head and put it to good use. The second way is that doing music improv with OTC lets me do what I love and bring joy to people at the same time, and that’s just an amazing feeling.
And, last but not least, do you hate your driver's license photo?
Hated my first one for so many reasons, but now it’s not so bad. Don’t love it, but don’t hate it.
